The truth would come calling

A thousand thanks to Andrew Korybko for his piece “Expect An Intensification Of Information Warfare Against Ethiopia” It is already rumbling along on the highest gear possible.

The American Hybrid War on Ethiopia, Korybko writes, relies heavily on manipulating locals’ perceptions of their government, armed forces, and fellow citizens in an attempt to weaken them from within. But for the keen watches of events transpiring in Ethiopia that’s nothing more than wishful thinking. in almost every square inch of the country Ethiopian are saying ‘Enough is Enough’ and taking arms to defend the sovereignty of motherland for which hundreds of thousands have sacrificed their lives.

William Davison, a name not very popular around here says, “International actors should also call on the Tigray leadership to show maximum restraint, as not only do they need to give Prime Minster Abiy Ahmed a final chance to change course, but a quick attempt to march on Addis would probably lead to worsening violence and destabilization for everyone.”

For the Tigray leadership it’s about maximum restraint, for PM Abiy it’s giving him a final chance to change course. Read between the lines.

Then there are also some sane voices though most of the time their thoughts are pushed into last paragraphs of news items.

Analyst Ann Fitz-Gerald said some weeks back…”The international community should be standing by the legitimate government of Ethiopia, and all three regions [Tigray, Amhara and Afar] affected by the conflict. It should call out the TPLF’s atrocities, and call on it to lay down arms.”

The past few days the propaganda onslaught has moved to higher gear with the media outlets have once again joining forces against a country is being denied to leave in peace. The fact of the matter is we no longer take them seriously. True, there was a time when these news agencies, newspapers and TV stations attracted wide followings in this country. We thought they were the cream of journalism and hung to every word they said. The verdict now is unanimous, they are not only conspiring with the enemy, but bit by bit they themselves are turning into the enemy! In the coming days and weeks they will be throwing everything they can our way like they have been doing for many months now. When it comes to media coverage, it’s time to have eyes on the back of our heads. It’s that bad. They’ll be wriggling out of the ground like those creatures in Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ video.

The title reads… “U.S. Secretary of State alarmed by news of Ethiopia’s TPLF takeover of two towns” and then a couple of paragraphs down comes, “… All parties must stop military operations and begin ceasefire negotiations without preconditions.” shouldn’t he have asked the marauding forces should pull back to their former positions? Yes, the fellow who first used the term “Read between the lines,” must have really meant it.

Andrew Kroybo in his wonderful short piece, “Expect An Intensification Of Information Warfare Against Ethiopia” The most dangerous part concerns rumors circulating on the internet alleging that high-level officials and members of the elite are preparing to evacuate themselves and their families from the capital,” this is already in full swing.

The title goes…“Nine Ethiopian groups to form anti-government alliance.” Guess where the signing was supposed to be… Washington DC! Don’t forget two in that group have been officially categorized as terrorist groups by the Ethiopians. Imagine what would have happened if some country’s capital ‘hosted, the signing of an agreement between ISIS and the Taliban!

Mark my word, sooner or later, truth would come calling and they’ll be facing the music. No matter how often they try to duck the truth it will sooner or later grab them by the throat and “Do you know who I am?” “Ok wise guy how fast you run away from me this time.”
