Ethiopia chosen to host 7th African National Blind Forum

An Association is working to host 7th African blinds forum in Ethiopia for the first time, on visual impairment in collaboration with Perkiness school for blind said, Ethiopian National Association of Blind (ENAB).

The 7th African ENAB will hold from October 7-11/2019 in Addis Ababa at Elilly International Hotel. And it will take a great emphasis to sustainable development goals with theme “achieving development goal through accesses, innovation, and lifelong learning” said the manager of ENAB Sultan Esmune.

In the event, the higher level Ethiopian government officials, Chief of African Union, development partners and stakeholders, different African and other countries ambassadors, universities, researchers, educational and training institutions, service providing manufacturers, world key figures and all those take part on the forum, he added.

Hosting the forum in Ethiopia has purpose to widen the awareness of the public on the issue of blindness, introducing new technology products for the blinds, deals on real practice of different countries how the issue of blindness is being treated, sharing experiences, and promoting friendship and solidarity and Enhancing the issue of blindness to get more attention, according to the manager.

In the forum the Association has expected 400-500 participants from different part of the world will take part on this forum and presented the different technological products they produce for the use of blinds, he noted
