3rd China Trade Week to take place on May

ADDIS ABABA – MIE Groups announced that the 3rd China Trade Week (CTW) Ethiopia will take place at Millennium Hall from 02- 04 May.

During a media briefing yesterday, David Wang, Executive Chairman and Managing Director of MIE Groups said that this is an excellent opportunity for the local business community to develop direct trading links with high-end Chinese producers and solution providers.

Chinese producers and manufacturing firms are keen on connecting with local and regional sourcing, buying and purchasing professionals from Ethiopia and other CTW territories across the Middle East and Africa. The event will boast more than 100 exhibitors such as Light Industry and Textiles, Construction Materials and Machinery, Food and Beverages, Home appliance and furniture, Lighting and Energy Solutions, Beauty and Health, Consumer Electronics, Biochemical and Automotive Parts, and Accessories sectors will be presented in the exhibition.

More than 400 Chinese investments valued at over 4 billion USD are presently active creating more than 100,000 job opportunities for Ethiopians, according to a report by Chinese state news agency Xinhua. In exchange, Ethiopia, during the 2017-2018 fiscal year that ended on July 8, has already exported goods worth about 245 million USD to China, according to data from the Ethiopian Ministry of Trade and Industry.
