ADDIS ABABA – The Delegation of the European Union to Ethiopia and Great Ethiopian Run announced yesterday in a news conference that they will jointly organize the 2019 European Day Races to be held on Sunday 5 May.
Erimias Ayele, the General Manager of The Great Ethiopian Run said during the news conference that more than 2700 boys and girls under the age of 5,8,11, and 14 will compete in 2km races at the National Youth Sport Academy in connection with European Day.
Ambassador Johan Borgstam, Head of the European Union Delegation to Ethiopia said that among the children competing May 5 in Europe Day Races we will have some of tomorrows’ world champions.
Ranieri Sabatucci, Ambassador Head of Delegation European Union to the Africa Union said that the day celebration is more than sport. Rather it is cultural exchange, which is the key catalyst for the socio-economic development of both nations.”
