Tigray, Gadarif hold joint boundary discussions

ADDIS ABABA – Joint boundary discussions between the neighboring communities of Western Zone of Tigray State, Ethiopia, and Feshega Zone of Gadarif County, Sudan, was held last week in the Town of Shiwek, Sudan on issues related to economic, social interaction and security affairs at regional level.

The discussants comprised of diplomatic staffs of Ethiopian consulate office in Gadarif, military and security personnel, and religious as well as community leaders from both sides, Head of the Western Zone of Tigray State, Risku Alemaw told The Ethiopian Herald.

Risku noted that the two sides have held fruitful discussions on common development affairs. Furthermore, they were deliberated to jointly combat illegal activities in the border areas including security cooperation and fighting contraband, according to the Head.
