Parliament passes bill to establish indoctrination center

ADDIS ABABA – In its regular session, the House of Peoples’ Representative passed a bill yesterday for the establishment of Constitution and Federalism Indoctrination Center, The Ethiopian Herald learnt.

The Center is said to help efforts of creating citizens who better understands their rights and obligations, in addition to promoting tolerance among the society. Its role in democratization is enormous while encouraging dialogue on contesting issues, it was indicated. The center would also support endeavors that could bring about national consensus.

Also, the realization of this Center is fundamental for the respect of rule of law as it make accessible the principles of constitution and federalism. Moreover, the parliament deliberated and refereed to standing committees for further scrutiny draft bills provided for higher education, ratifying Ethio-India bilateral trade agreement; revising Federal Auditor General proclamation, ratifying loan agreement between Ethiopia and Exim Bank of China for Mekelle Water Supply Project, among others.
