Attorney General says its reform targets special, digital services

Federal Attorney General said its reform undertaking has brought specialized directorates to offer prompt services relating to anti-corruption affairs and free legal services while countering organized and transboundary crimes.

Its reform also incorporated structures to enhance international cooperation. Attorney General Public Relation Director Zinabu Tulu told this reporter that customers’ congestion has significantly dropped due to the new services. The institution has also increased its staff size to enable customers get quality services, he said.

Moreover, application software, ‘justice information integration system’—designed to supply information and services online—is in the pipeline. The Attorney General has planned more digital services to dismantle straitjacket on the service delivery.

Mentioning as around 16,000 customers received service over the last six months, the director expressed hope that the overall reform undertaking will cut time and cost previously incurred on customers. “The reform will help to foster the protection of human rights whereas boosting the capacity to anti- human trafficking activities.” Also, he said services have received increasing attention to help low income individuals get fair justice.
