ADDIS ABABA – A two-day flower, vegetable, and fruits fair themed: “The Future is for Horticulture” kicked off at the Millennium Hall yesterday. Speaking at the opening ceremony, President Sahlework Zewde said that the flower, vegetables and fruit sector is relatively a new sector in the economy but has become a major employer and foreign currency earner.
The President stated that the sector is grateful to the investors engaged in the production and processing of flower, vegetable, and fruits. She added the investors should further enhance the sector through giving due focus to the role of women and environmental protection.
President Sahlework also said that the good results gained in the flower sector should be replicate to vegetables and fruits.
