
.Graduates over 5,000 students in various programs

AMBO – “The Ambo University has put in place 4.8 billion Birr projects during the last three years. Some of these projects are completed and providing services,’’ the university President Tadesse Kenea (Ph.D) said.
This was disclosed yesterday when the University graduated 5,621 students who completed their education in various academic programs at regular, extension and serial schedules bases.
The university has also graduated Six Ph.D students for the first time, it was learnt.
Speaking of the projects, the president said the university has carried out construction of referral hospital; teacher’s resident, learning building and ICT complex buildings.
The university is also working by designing projects to avail necessary infrastructure and service for the community besides working to achieve its vision. For this to happen, the university has been conducting community based researches to solve communities’ problem.
Currently around 67 researches and community service projects are underway with allocated finance of 13 million Birr. Some are completed and under construction,he said adding that the university has offered 4,000 low income individuals free health services and also free legal service for some 500 individuals.
Member of Ambo University Board Pro. Bekele Gutemma said on his part that education is key element to improve sustainable development and to solve various political, health, economic and social problems with skilled and capitalized human power.
“Hence, graduates should use their knowledge to solve the community problems. As well as they should be responsible for doing a lot of homework for the country.”
