Recently, some individuals and the so called foreign activists who used to be blind supporters of TPLF junta have been masquerading as news sources of some international media outlets and representatives of organizations have been also disseminating fake news about Ethiopia on daily basis.
Indeed, any person with common sense would easily understand the motive behind such defamation campaigns of TPLF cronies. But, few innocent people have been misled by these individuals’ hearsay stories about the current situation in Tigray.
In truth, the Ethiopian government has been doing its level best to speed up rehabilitation and rebuilding of Tigray working together with international and local partners.
However, turning deaf ears to the aforesaid rigorous efforts of the government and partners, some are in continuous attempts of tarnishing Ethiopia’s image via fabricating numerous stories focusing on Tigray.
It is true that some people in Tigray State need humanitarian aids and the government together with foreign aid groups operating in Ethiopia have been at the forefront of delivering relief aids.
So far over 30,000 metric tons of food and non–food items have been distributed across Tigray State apart from providing medicines and medical supplies worth 71 million Birr.
Thanks to the government and the public at large, Ethiopia has once again proved the world that it could manage its internal crisis by itself and would not tolerate attacks on sovereignty by internal or external forces.
Before the junta attacked the Northern Command of the Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF), some paid journalists, lobbyists and activists had propagated fake news about the military mighty of the junta. They used to describe the junta as war harden and indomitable by any forces in Ethiopia. But, the junta was disintegrated within 17 days as it could not stand the blow of the ENDF.
These same irresponsible individuals when they realized the inevitable demise of the junta, they have been actively involving in spreading false information aimed at whitewashing the junta’s grave crimes.
The individuals are also now playing the victim forgetting the junta’s’ belligerent and warmongering acts. One must not forget here that the atrocities committed against some members of the ENDF by the junta.
Various vicious acts carried out against those who used to keep the peace and security of the Tigray State in particular and Ethiopia in general for over 20 years. Indeed, history would never forgive the junta’s crimes and betrayals.
Last but not least, Ethiopia is ready to work in collaboration with those who want to play due role in rehabilitating Tigray but, it will not stand any one that is busy at whitewashing junta’s grave crimes knowingly or unknowingly.
