Stride devoid of human element

BY MENGESHA AMARE

Whenever things which are lucrative for someone or decisive for their existence escape from self-manipulation, it is natural to be offended and take unexpected measures upon others. It is natural. However, as human beings, we have to succinctly and rationally analyze things as it is the sole feature, as well as a parameter, that differentiates us from instinct-oriented animals.

Yes, if someone acts deviating from their ideology especially in the sphere of politics, actors have been labeling as rivalry in different countries of the world, but they have never had cruelty to the extent that claiming human life taking unimaginable measures.

What happened in our country, Ethiopia, recently following the law enforcement operation in Tigray state and the defeating of the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) junta members was equaled by nothing on the planet.

Even foreign invaders, who came to colonialize the country didn’t do such a barbaric action since they were creatures with human element.

Cognizant of the fact that the TPLF members countless destructions, a range of merciless actions in different parts of the nation such as the targeted killing of innocents in West Wolega, who have never had any political spirit and the massacre perpetrated at Mai-Kadra emanating from the devilish nature of the chased away group, it is not surprising that their unfeelingly rolling over soldiers.

Whenever people are morally eroded, and their human element is severely battered following their money-monger or power monger nostalgia, they could hardly think of others especially for those whom they regard as enemies.

Is rolling over a person using a Sino Truck a reward for their immense contribution to the wellbeing of the community in which they have been assimilating themselves? Many of the members of the defense got married to the women and born children. They have also been protecting farmers’ crops from locust invasion and promoting social wellbeing as much as they can. Interestingly, a number of schools were constructed where the defense force resides.

The very thing that the international community and even the benefit-sharing junta cliques have to well comprehend that TPLF has not been in a position to get poor Tigraways out of whom they came liberated from poverty let alone pushing Ethiopia to the level it deserves.

The mere propaganda and the falsehood fabrications with which they have been provided might mislead the international community and their members in the wrong way. Undeniably, the mysterious feature and the hidden agendum they have run for over forty years is of stylishly obscured for everyone.

TPLF didn’t stop killing its helps for over 21 years burying themselves in a stronghold.

They had performed another inhuman action which could by no means be done whatsoever. There is an international consensus in this regard, of course. During disputes be they are conflicts or planned wars, civilians shouldn’t be attacked. Besides, institutions providing the public with social services such as healthcare, education and religious services have never been used as shelters and even not attacked at all.

This is unthinkable in a notorious war between two or more countries let alone in law enforcement operations within a single nation.

All what TPLF did entirely violates these golden international war conventions and rules.

Apart from attacking the unwavering pillar of the nation—the defense force—and killing innocent civilians at a scorching sun, the TPLF junta has plundered the refugee camp situated at Shire town of Tigray State.

Agency for Refugee and Returnee Affairs two days ago stated that Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) junta members and mercenaries plundered office properties, vehicles and other equipment used for providing assistance as well as destroyed a great deal of wealth.

According to Agency Director General, Tesfahun Gobezay the TPLF junta has taken away a range of properties of the refugee camp situated at Shire town of Tigray state.

It is well recognized that Ethiopia has hosted refuges coming from over 26 countries. Of the over 100,000 refugees came from different countries, some 46, 000 are from Eritrea and camped in Tigray state in four stations. Having been given legal license, the rest have assimilated themselves with the general public and peacefully led life.

Tesfahun further said stated that almost all properties are looted and even they don’t know where their vehicles are. “We are advancing towards sustaining the humanitarian assistance for refuges bridging the gaps witnessed in relation to the law enforcement operation in the State.”

Agency vice Director on his part said that the junta has tried to spoil Ethiopia’s reputable image of receiving and assisting refugees coming from different countries. “TPLF’s dissipated members tried all their best to paint country’s image with wrong picture as they have left no stone unturned to do so and get Ethiopia internationally erroneously labeled. However, since we are well known globally, junta’s effort won’t bear fruits. It’s a wicked action that doesn’t stop us from serving refugees well.”

“The wrong deed TPLF did here is the clear manifestation of the junta members’ callous and lofty personalities,” he added.

As leant from the Director General, they are working hard to resume the humanitarian engagement in full swing and get wrong doers be they are their own staff members or others appear before law.

“We are also relentlessly working to get the refugees services into the right track as hunger and thirsty doesn’t give time,” the Director General added.

It is crystal clear that Ethiopia is one of the pioneer nations of the world in putting the UN set comprehensive refugees assistance framework of the 2016 into practical actions.

All in all, the wrong deed what TPLF did reflects that the members are devoid of human element; everyone has to look into themselves and work in combination with peace-loving citizens and patriots not to echo such a disgraceful actions in future so long as we all are human beings apart from being sons and daughters of the same nation.

No matter how mammoth the property destruction and human life loss the TPLF has caused since their coming to power is, Ethiopia has now opened a new chapter cleansing the hostility with love and fraternity, hatred politics with cooperation and working for a common goal and political polarization with intimacy and combination. True, this is the right way to make a difference in all aspects.

In a nut shell, all nations and nationalities have to move in unison to build a democratic and prosperous country forgiving one another and respecting in all aspects as Ethiopia is a country of all, doesn’t not belong to some groups
