ESAT voice of the voiceless: Team members

ADDIS ABABA- A team of Ethiopian Satellite Television and Radio (EAST) journalists from Washington, DC, London and Amsterdam met their fans and followers at the Millennium Hall yesterday. ESAT Addis Ababa branch CEO Engineer Saba Ataro said on the event that ESAT had been serving voiceless and oppressed Ethiopians as a voice for the last nine years.

Following the recent political transformation, ESAT has managed to establish its Station in Adids Ababa, which was unthinkable for most previously, she said. According to her, in short period of time, ESAT Addis Ababa, has accomplished several activities and provided much-needed information to Ethiopians in different languages. Member of the European parliament, Ana Gomes, who was a guest of honor on the event, will stay here in Ethiopia for three days. In her stay, she will discuss with top government officials and competing political party leaders on democracy and election, among others. ESAT was instrumental in the fight for justice and democracy for the last nine years. Established nine years ago with the mission of bolstering the struggle to bring democracy and justice, ESAT has been transmitting news and programs from abroad via satellite. According to ESAT`s website, it has been dropped from satellite for at least 25 times. Its transmissions have been the target of jamming countless times by the TPLF led government in Addis Ababa. ESAT has accorded warm welcome from residents of Addis.
