ADDIS ABABA – Gambella State Speaker of Council, Lakder Lukbok called on leaders at all levels that they should prioritize to address the age-long development and good governance queries of the public.
In the 5th year 10th regular session of the state council conference started on Tuesday the speaker said that leaders at each level of administration unit should emphasize and put in place addressing development and good governance quests raised by the people of the state for ages.
“As peace is an important tool to address development and good governance demands of the public leaders and the wide public are urged to work in an integrated manner and coordinated effort to sustain it, ” he added.
According to him, the Cholera epidemic, which is spreading in the world and the country, has also increased dramatically in the state. He called on the executive and council members at all levels to work tirelessly to avert the risk would be.
“Efforts are underway to evaluate the development demand and good governance question the public in the state in addition to enacting laws.”
Holding of the conference after the completion of the first round water filling of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam makes the year’s session unique than other years, said the speaker. He also conveyed a congratulatory message to the people of the State and the country.
According to ENA, the two-day conference is expected to review and approve the State’s 2012 E.C development and good governance plan performance, Supreme Court, and audit reports.
The 2013 development and good governance plan budget, various appointments and proclamations are expected to be approved; it was learnt from its action plan.
