Coffee FC face leadership resignation

ADDIS ABABA – The Coffee Football Club long serving President Fekade Mamo, well known as Chento to represent his lieutenant army rank and board member Yismashewa resigned from their position following the fans protest, the club announced.

Coffee were on top of the season’s Ethiopian Premier League football club competition for long until they were overtaken by their arch rivals Saint George a couple of weeks ago.

Following their dropping of points against Mekele Saba Inderta, Coffee suffered two successive defeats at the hands of the defending champions Jima Abajifar and South Police at the Addis Ababa stadium the angry fans requested the President to step down.

In a meeting held at the Coffee’s headquarter in the presence of the fans the board accepted the resignation of both Fekade and Yismashewa. According to the statement of the club the President Fekadu Mamu will stay until the end of this month as President of the club. This is to give time for fresh election.
