Senbere wins half marathon in UAE

ADDIS ABABA – The Ethiopian Senbere Teferi won half marathon at a time of one hour, five minutes and 45 seconds in the female’s race that took place in the United Arab Emirates, UAE. The second place was taken by another Ethiopian Netsanet Gudeta finishing almost the same time.

They were separated by photo finishing camera. The difference was so close that the camera showed only a difference of a fraction of a second. The spectators appreciated the performance of the two Ethiopians who had shown superb athletics power all through to the end. As one commentator puts it was a neck and neck contest.

This kind of close competition is rarely seen in the race. In the men’s event the Kenyan Stefan Keprok emerged the winner leaving behind Ethiopians Abadi Hadis and Fikadu Habtu to take the second and third places, in the order of that.
