Nowadays, the COVID-19 pandemic taking place in a wide spectrum of the country is claiming the lives of people and giving a hard time for the general public time and again. Furthermore, some segments of the society residing in different corridors of the nation for the most part the needy ones have been greatly challenged by the pandemic.
Although awareness-raising campaigns have been carried out over and over again making use of the print and electronic media outlets of the country, the desired goal has not yet been achieved. All and sundry should be able to stick to the dos and don’ts of the COVID-19 pandemic prevention and save their own and compatriots lives.
The pandemic has been spreading here, there and everywhere at the speed of light giving rise to school closures, lockdowns, flight cancellations, and what have you.
If all Ethiopians put the coronavirus prevention dos and don’ts into effect in the twinkling of an eye, they can redeem their beloved motherland as well as themselves beyond a shred of a doubt. Above and beyond, as usual, we should support one another and make every effort to save our country from the COVID-19 pandemic. If we fail to do so, we cannot make our dream become a reality in the shortest possible time.
As the challenge is beyond the capabilities of everyone in the world, quite a lot of people have been taken their last breath now and then. At the moment, the government of Ethiopia has been working around the clock intending to prevent and wipe out the disease from the face of the country.
Ethiopian Diasporas living in different parts of the globe have contributed, are contributing, a lot to the overall development and progress of the nation with a special focus on COVID-19 these days. This writer would like, at this specific juncture, to cite the concern of an Ethiopian diaspora.
Currently, Girma Bekele lives in Canada, Calgary. He said regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, “Unless all Ethiopians work hand-in-glove with pertinent bodies, attaining the sought after goal will not be that easy. If truth be told, at the moment, everything is moving in the right direction. Everyone should be able to stand by the side of the government and attach significance to the coronavirus prevention measures.
“The government of Ethiopia is doing a great job and coming up with a wide array of effective strategies to effectively combat the pandemic. We should focus on pieces of advice given by concerned bodies. Ethiopians are making everything possible. We are helping one another than ever before,” he wrapped up.
