Diasporas pulling out all the stops

Everyone is well aware of the fact that the COVID-19 pandemic has been increasing at an alarming rate in various parts of the country over and over again. To the surprise of everyone, the disease is getting off the track and missing the mark now and again.

However, the Ethiopian government and other pertinent bodies have been working day in and day out intending to protect the pandemic. The pandemic is also turning out to be a pain in the neck and a bitter pill to swallow. Nowadays, the situation is getting into uncharted waters and jumping from the frying pan into the fire. The incumbent has been coming up with a wide array of strategies with the intention of getting the general public back on track.

Be that as it may, fellow-citizens residing at home and abroad have been standing by the side of their fellow citizens to pull out all the stops. They have been making the impossible possible coming up with various fruitful strategies and thus most of the needy people have been feeling as if a huge weight is off their bodies.

Anteneh Melaku is an Ethiopian diaspora. At the moment, he lives in Calgary Canada. He said regarding the issue, “Ethiopians love helping one another more than anything under the sun. They give priority to their motherland. They do not bat an eye to get themselves involved in their country’s affair,”

“Ethiopians living in the length and breadth of Ethiopia and other parts of the world should endeavor to stand by the side of their fellow citizens more than ever before. Until better days come, all Ethiopians should stick to the dos and don’ts of the coronavirus pandemic and place emphasis on health professionals’ advice. If we fail to do so, the last of us will be departing this world in next to no time,” he added.

“Unless we stick to health professionals’ advice, we will expose ourselves to danger and give a hard time to our closest and distant relatives. As COVID-19 pandemic needs due care and attention, all and sundry should endeavor to work hand-in-glove to prevent the disease.”

As learned from the Ethiopian News Agency, the Ethiopian Trust Fund granted medical equipment worth 40 million Birr intending to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic. The support will be for the forefront health professionals partaking in a wide spectrum of fronts to fight the disease.
