ADDIS ABABA-Hotels in Addis Ababa have made adequate preparations to offer quality services for participants of the 32nd African Union Summit with the view to makingthe attendees’have memorable stay, Addis Ababa Hotel Owners Association said.
Speaking to The Ethiopian Herald, Association Chairman Benyam Bisrat stated that they are partnering with utility providing institutions such as Ethio-telecom, Ethiopian Electric Powerand Addis Ababa Water and Sewerage Authority to provide seamless services for Summit participants. Benyam noted that series of consultative meetings have also been taken place with Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture and Tourism and other stakeholders to be able to live up to customers’expectations in allfronts.
Addis Ababa and Federal Police Commissions have been providing trainings for the hotels security personnel on ways of protecting the safety and security of guests,the chairman said, adding that the participants would be briefed about Ethiopia’s famous tourist attractions and hospitality in the bid to stimulate the tourism industry.
Addis Ababa has been witnessing the influx of international brand hotels, lodges, restaurants and motels and recently two five-star hotels namely Ethiopian Skylight and Hyatt Regency opened doors totap opportunities the sector offers. “More facilities are also in the pipeline that would translatethe city’s vision of becoming center of conference tourism to reality, he added. The 32nd Ordinary Session of AU Summit will take place here February 7-11,2019.
