The ESSTI Director Dr. Solomon Belay recently said the developed mobile and web application software is going to identify and tackle three major issues related to COVID-19.
He noted that the software is developed by experts and engineers of the Institute and it is so helpful in recording all the needed information to combat the deadly virus and to stay alert amid the pandemic.
He also indicated that the mobile application software service is an app that has a location link, which provides information about who has been in contact with a person who is infected with coronavirus.

The software provides additional information about the coronavirus and keeps informing people to maintain physical distancing guidelines all the time.
“ The website has a graph of the information at each location and that people regularly update the status of the site from the time of the symptom; and the app also detects the location of infected persons .”
The director noted that it is important to identify the status of the virus in the area and to provide a comprehensive assessment as needed.
Accordingly, the institute has made use its previous rich experience in technology development and come up with new design for this software. The Venture’s 8-inch telescope and 3D printer have been manufactured and transferred to the appropriate department for production.
