ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECWC) announced that it has generated more than 1.3 billion birr in revenue in the first six months of the budget year.
According to its recent report in a magazine entitled Eyita, the Corporation has presently run 53 projects at a contract cost of more than 27 billion birr in the construction infrastructure sectors of transport, water and building technology.
ECWC has been engaged in transport, water and construction sector projects.
Over the first six months of the year, it has carried out the construction of 20.92 kilometer and maintenance of 3,445.67 kilometer of roads. This showed a 44 per cent increment compared to the performance of the same period the previous year.
On the other hand, the performance of the water project has reached 48.37 per cent which has also shown 15 per cent advancement vis-à-vis last year.
Hitting 51.36 percent of the performance in building and technology projects, the completion of Addis Zoo Park Peacock, Kotebe Metropolitan University and Mickily Land projects have been taken as instances of success.
Most of all, the involvement of the corporation on the construction of the Unity Park as a consultant and contractor have also been grand achievements during the plan year.
Besides, the Corporation has also discharged its social responsibilities by spending more than six million birr. The money was invested in supplying material support for public schools and backing potable water supply for communities around project area.
