ADDIS ABABA– Noah Real Estate PLC. handed over yesterday a seven-storey apartment building to Ministry of Health for serving as a quarantine space for health professionals that are engaged in caring for patients affected by the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).
It was stated during the key handing over ceremony that Ministry of Health and Noah Real Estate reached a – three – month agreement up to 350 health professionals reside in the 48 apartments. Each apartment possesses of big living room, four bed rooms, and other rooms and equipped with modern appliances.
Health State Minister Sahrela Abdullahi said on the occasion that the isolation of health professionals who are currently managing COVID-19 patients from family and friends would have a paramount importance in combating the spread of the epidemic.
Stating that 74 people have been identified COVID-19 positive as of yesterday, Sahrela stressed that fighting corona should not be left to a single government entity.
“The private sector should maintain its meaningful involvement in supplementing government’s efforts to arrest the spread of the pandemic.
Noah Real Estate representative Abiy Hailemariam said for his part that the company beliefs in the multi-stakeholder engagement to combat the spread of COVID-19 and it is willing to stand together with the government and the public in a view to discharging national responsibility.
According to Abiy, Noah has been actively engaged in executing corporate social responsibility besides its significant role in addressing the demand for modern and lavish apartment houses.
The handover of apartment houses, therefore, showcasing the company’s priority to community development.
“The agreement is not limited in three months,” he noted, adding that the medics could use the facility as long as the challenge is solved. Noah is also in the process to provide personal protective equipment (PPE) to health professionals.
It was indicated that the price of each apartment house is estimated to six million Birr. The construction of Noah Real Estate’s apartment complex was commenced in 2010 EC and currently it is fully operational.
