ADDIS ABABA- Ministry of Finance disclosed that in order to sustain the economic development, it has been rendering different economic sectors robust. The Ministry has been undertaking different tasks to make it better. Strong works have been done on developing main tourism destination areas, he said. Though tourism’s role in the nation’s economic is high, it has not been getting enough attention yet. Therefore, collaborative works are done on the sector to develop more capacity through giving attention to natural and human made tourism resources, he added.
It has also reached some starting points on mining sector. It has been working on it in a bid to let it have its own proper role onthe national economy and also to benefit the community through creating participatory job opportunities. He pointed out that the Minstry has created jobs for citizens who are being member of small and cultural mining development cooperatives.
The Tigray, Benshalgul Gumuz and Oromiya states are among the places where the exemplary tasks are done. As to Eyob, the agriculture sector is also one of the sectors which is accorded added attention to make a paradigm shift and has a meaning full effect for the past two years.
To make the sector modern, in an unprecedented manner it has imported tools which help the agriculture mechanization tax free and it never happened before. And now it has been seeing these tractors on different states farmers’ plots.
This is one of the major things to step up the agriculture economy. He added, on the states, farmers are made to produce additional products on top of their common yields like avocado, mango, apple and papaya, among others which can thrive in the given environment’s weather. Additionally, works are underway to make farmers free from dependency on rain.
To bolster their productivity, there is an activity to produce during the dry period through irrigation. He said that there is a gap in the country in using the higher number of human power and changing productivity. Regarding this, it has made movements on eliminating structural problems and working to make persons have their own new idea or renewed idea to participate on jobs. As to him, the movement on making private sectors to be true driving engines in the economic sector is appreciable. It is seeing that the economic movement is changing to a healthy and strong one. Eyob noted, in full force it has been working on the main economic sectors and it has been achieving meaning full effects.
