Measures that have been taken thus far have been commensurate with frequent analysis of the emerging challenges. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to progress globally and nationally, the Council of Ministers have decreed a State of Emergency according to Article 93 of the Constitution.
In a statement issued by the Office of the Prime Minister yesterday, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed called upon all to follow the ensuing measures that will further define the State of Emergency and to strictly adhere to the Ministry of Health prevention guidelines.
Considering the gravity of the COVID-19 health crisis with global social, political and economic impacts, the government has been undertaking various measures in the past few weeks to prepare and respond accordingly.
