ADDIS ABABA – Ministry of Trade and Industry conducted quality control test on 331,905.3 metric tons of export products.
As to Tesfaye Tadesse, Communication Affairs Directorate Team Leader at the Ministry, during the first six months of the current fiscal year, the Ministry setting plan to conduct quality control tests on 363,349.8 metric tons of compulsory Ethiopian export products, it was able to perform nearly 92 percent of the plan.
As to him, oilseeds, cereals, leather and hides, vegetables and fruits were amongst the items that went under the test, certified and exported. In this regard, 131,509.9 metric tons of oilseeds, 136,781.69 metric tons of cereals, and 23,790.25 metric tons of leather and hides were exported as they have met the standards.
Following the compulsory export quality control system the country has conducted and the items met the set standard requirements, the nation has been able to build its image on export and support its income from the sector, he added.
