Chamber launches 24th annual int’l trade fair

ADDIS ABABA – The 24th Addis Chamber Annual International Trade Fair has kicked off Thursday here in Addis Ababa with the theme ‘’New opportunities for increasing export potential in Ethiopia’’

Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (AACCSA) Secretary General, Getachew Regassa said that such event is beyond providing commodities, and rather an instrument that encourages private sectors to work through joint venture, attracting foreign direct investment, and creating stable economy.

According to the Secretary General, 74 foreign and more than 127 domestic companies are engaging in the event. In addition to this, more than 25,000 visitors are expected to attend the exhibition. On the other hand, the trade fair is unique from the past similar events due to focus on technology instruments which are helpful to reduce Ethiopian challenges on technology affairs especially on agriculture.

Paolo Caneva, African Agent for Ez Company from Italy told The Ethiopian Herald that EZ Company participates twice a year and such type of event is playing significant role for expanding trade and ensuring mutual benefit during his five years stay.

According to him, EZ Company is providing different building materials like steel and related things. Particularly, quality construction materials are expensive in the actual period, rather the issue should be obtaining quality materials and worried to workers safety.

The trade fair takes place annually organized by AACCSA.
