ADDIS ABABA – The government has stepped up its citizen centered diplomacy bringing back 135 fellow citizens who were in prisons in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to home and striking a deal that allows about 10,000 Ethiopians to obtain UAE’s work permit.
Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Head Nigussu Tilahun told journalists in Dubai that the Premier Abiy held discussions on ways to ensure the rights and benefits of Ethiopians residing in the UAE with the country’s high-level government officials during his three-day visit.
Furthermore, agreement was reached to enable 10,000 Ethiopians obtain job opportunities in the Expo 2020 Dubai during a discussion with UAE’s Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
