Ministry earns over 1 bln. USD from export

Ethiopian Ministry of Trade and Industry collected 1.21 billion USD in the past two quarters from exports, The Ethiopian Herald learnt.

The ministry collected the revenue from coffee, chat, tantalum, gold, hydropower, leather and leather products, textile, meat and dairy products exports. Cereal crops and pulses are also among the main export agricultural products.

When compared to the plan, the performance is only 62 percent due to the low agricultural production. According to the report of the Ministry, it also gave trainings to 75 industry owners and 440 local people on environmental management. It has also facilitated the promotion of the nation’s export products on six international exhibitions that facilitated over 1.2 million USD exports.
