The chemistry of Muslims and Christians is the shining jewel on Ethiopia’s beauty crown.
The country boasts a peculiar mix composed of ethnicity, language and culture, among others.
In addition, unlike elsewhere citizens have been comfortable about their religious differences.
It does not come as a surprise that Ethiopian Christian and Muslims have been living together with love and peace for thousands of years showcasing an exemplary history. The chemistry goes beyond exemplary peaceful coexistence. They have been creating new generations intermingling in marriage.
On the other hand, there are times their tranquility is robbed by instigators of unrest that aim at fishing in troubled water marring their togetherness. Challenges have knocked their doors lots of time to hack their fabrics of unity.
Maximizing political benefits from possible clashes of the faithful of the two religions had been tried. And some are still trying to drive a divisive wedge between them to separate them for the sake of political gain.
But all such attempts went up in smoke. They were frantic bids or futile attempts as nothing could possibly estrange the two. Rather, followers of the two faiths and leaders have pressed ahead displaying their considerateness to each other.
