ADDIS ABABA – Oromo and Amhara elites most of them drawn from higher academic institutions took place national forum in Addis Ababa in a bid to contribute their role in addressing the country’s problems and to offer recommendations to the government.
Opening the forum, Prosperity Party Central Committee Member, Taye Dendea stressed that the unity of the Amhara and Oromo peoples is important not only for their own people, but also for all Ethiopians.
He pointed out the importance to look for the roots of all the misunderstandings in the country and forward possible recommondations.
It was noted that through dialogue and sharing of ideas it is possible to solve the problems in Ethiopia, and the unity of the two peoples is seen as important to the country and beyond the regions.
The participants for their part expressed the importance inclusive participation of all Ethiopians for the unity and it has also been underlined that the scholars of the two regions should work together to eliminate differences.
