“Doctor Abiy’s administration should turn focus to the economy” Senior Economist

ADDIS ABABA- Prime Minister Doctor Abiy Ahmed’s administration should turn focus to and prioritize the economy to change the public’s life, Ethiopia’s senior economist, Bulcha Demekssa said. Bulcha, who was also former MP to the Amharic Daily Addis Zemen, the major concern of the public at the time is related to their inability to improve their lives.

And PM Abiy’s administration needs to prioritize economic reforms to improve the wellbeing of Ethiopians. In addition, it has to adopt modern agricultural technologies and fertilizers to improve farmers’ lives and increase productively. It is also imperative to identify and develop new uncultivated lands, he noted.

If the Prime Minister shift his focus to the economy, he said, “I can certainly tell that he would be able to improve the lives of Ethiopians.” According to him, the Prime Minister is wise, sociable, and has a gift to plead his case to the public and govern with love.

“While the current reforms have given us a sense of optimism, we are also witnessing unreasonable conflicts and displacement here and there. In this regard, elders need to play a key role in settling conflicts.”
