ADDIS ABABA – Ethio-telecom and the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that enables clients of the former to make monthly payments via the Bank.
The agreement was signed between Frehiwot Tamiru, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ethio-telecom and Bacha Gina, President of CBE.
According to the press release sent to The Ethiopian Herald the agreement enables the clients of the telecom services provider pay their service fees using the bank’s technology, CBE Birr, Internet Banking, Mobile Banking and Automated Teller Machine (ATM).
Ethio-telecom is also looking other channels of options that could let private banks be one of the payment spots, it was learnt.
