Dubai Chamber inks MoU to empowering Ethiopian women entrepreneurs

ADDIS ABABA- Dubai Chamber of Commerce signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Center for Accelerated Women’s Economic Empowerment (CAWEE) in a view to taking part in supporting Ethiopian women entrepreneurs in the export business.

The agreement was signed by Dubai Chamber International Office Head Teba Molla and CAWEE Founder and Executive Director, Nigist Haile at the conclusion of Dubai Economic Symposium that was held here in Addis Ababa under the theme ‘Building a Bridge to Prosperity’ for two days.

During the occasion, the Office Head reaffirmed Dubai Chamber’s commitment to work together with the Center to provide the necessary support for Ethiopian women entrepreneurs in their endeavors to penetrate the global market.

Nigist said on her part that the agreement would have a paramount importance to the Center to facilitate trade exchanges for Ethiopian women entrepreneurs in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and other Gulf countries.

Noting that extensive efforts are underway to establish Federation of Ethiopian Women Entrepreneurs Association, she further stated that the MoU also avails the opportunity to women-run small and medium-scale businesses to tap the Gulf

 region’s enormous market potential. During the occasion, Ethiopian and UAE women business persons held experience sharing discussion in a bid to strengthening ties in startup businesses and other related areas.

Dubai Economic Symposium was hosted by Dubai Chamber of Commerce in partnership with UAE Embassy in Addis Ababa.
