ADDIS ABABA – China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation (CFPA) opened its office in Addis Ababa to launch charitable projects in areas of health, education, industrial development and disaster relief.
During the opening of launching ceremony, Ambassador of China to Ethiopia Tin Jian appreciated the opening of the foundation. It is already known that Chinese rapid socio economic development is a product of poverty reduction efforts which the foundation is working on, and Ethiopia is also doing the same , the Ambassador said.
Ethiopia’s revised social and economic laws will pull more foreign investors and international organizations movement. Thus, the opening of CFPA here in Ethiopia is the cumulative result of this and Ethio-Chinese positive relation, he added.
Executive Vice President of the Foundation, Wangxingzui for his part also remarked that the foundation has already been accredited to launch its projects.
To him, the Foundation will support the growing socio-economic developments of the country. CFPA also works to realize United Nation’s sustainable development goal of lessening poverty which Ethiopia also striving to achieve.
The Foundation announced that it will donate 43,000 school bags to Ethiopian public primary schools.
