
ADDIS ABABA – The Tigray State Administration’s Bureau of Agriculture and Natural Resources has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing agricultural production and productivity through modern farming practices.
As part of these efforts, 85 agricultural tractors provided by the federal government were distributed to various zones in the state on Friday.
The Tigray State’s Interim Administration of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Bureau Head Iyasu Abreha (PhD) emphasized that initiatives to boost production through modern agricultural methods will continue to be strengthened.
He highlighted the significant role of agricultural mechanization in increasing productivity and noted that farmers in the state are showing a growing interest in adopting modern technology.
He further stated that organized farmers and youth groups would benefit from the newly distributed tractors, expressing gratitude for the support received. Additionally, he noted that 125 tractors, previously supplied by the Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Institute and partner organizations, have already been allocated and put to use.
Iyasu stressed that expanding agricultural mechanization is essential for the state’s development. He underscored the importance of further strengthening efforts to enhance both the quality and quantity of agricultural output, thereby fostering the growth of the agro-industry, as reported by ENA.
