TPLF faction obstructing Pretoria Accord implementation: Interim Admin. President
A faction within the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) is obstructing the implementation of the Pretoria Peace Agreement, an agreement that ends hostilities and brings peace in Tigray.
The faction’s actions are contributing to instability in Tigray, potentially risking a return to conflict.
The current development is a significant challenge to the peace process and necessary measures to ensure the agreement’s effective execution are needed. Some delays in the accord’s implementation phase open a chance for some actors to exploit the situation for personal and group benefits.
The federal government and relevant stakeholders should give due attention for the situation to maintain peace and stability in Tigray. The current development could have wider implications beyond the state unless managed timely through peaceful means.
