Regional integration key for achieving shared aspirations in HoA: PM Abiy

Regional thinking and collaboration are essential for the Horn of Africa (HoA) countries to achieve their shared aspirations. We held constructive discussions with President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, covering key areas, including peace & security, economy, diplomacy, and the potential for joint infrastructure development.

The Horn of Africa is rich in resources—fertile lands, fresh water, and human capital—yet we struggle to feed ourselves. Regional integration is essential to achieving our shared aspirations.

We have immense potential that must be harnessed for our collective growth. We cannot thrive in isolation, but together, we can build a stronger future. Regional cooperation is key, and we are ready to work with Somalia to make this a reality.

Securing economic freedom responsibility of current generation: Historian

Our forefathers have ensured the political and territorial sovereignty of Ethiopia, thanks to their bravery and heroic sacrifices at Adwa. As we are commemorating the 129th Victory of Adwa, a victory of black people over colonial power, the current generation has a responsibility of securing economic freedom so as to ensure Ethiopia’s full sovereignty.

Adwa of our time is ensuring our economic freedom, thereby completing the political independence inherited from our forefathers.

The sacrifices made by previous generations of Ethiopians secured political independence. However, without economic independence, our freedom remains at risk. Therefore, working together to achieve economic sovereignty is the Adwa of our time.

True unity is achieved through mutual recognition, acceptance: Ustaz Abubaker

Ethiopia’s victory at Adwa was possible because Ethiopians stood together. While Ethiopians are diverse, they can coexist in solidarity and shared purpose. We may not be identical, but we can live together in harmony. Caring for one another is central to Ethiopia’s identity.

Unity is not about uniformity but about embracing and respecting differences. A strong future is built on a foundation of togetherness. To ensure national unity and harmony, it needs all out Ethiopians contribution. Hence, ensuring shared future requires today’s collective action
