
The Ordinary Sessions of the 46th Executive Council and the 38th Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU), which were attended by more than 12,000 foreign guests, concluded successfully.
The 38th AU summit was attended by one King, 30 Presidents, 5 Prime Ministers, 3 Vice Presidents, and 17 First Ladies from Member States along with their respective delegations. High-level delegations were welcomed and sent off with full diplomatic protocols.
Bole International Airport managed a total of 57 chartered flights without any air traffic issues.

– Pretoria Agreement model for African solutions to African problems: PAPS Commissioner
The Pretoria Agreement, a peace accord signed between the federal government of Ethiopia and TPLF forces, is an exemplary model of the African Union’s agenda of “African Solutions to African Problems.”
The agreement was utilized by the federal government of Ethiopia and TPLF forces to address political and security issues comprehensively. The agreement brings meaningful success in halting insecurity in the region.
It is important to take lessons from the Pretoria Agreement to impact other regions, such as Sudan and eastern DR Cong. AU is playing an active role in promoting peace and stability across the continent.

-Horn of Africa Initiative finances over 20 ongoing projects in Ethiopia: Minister
Ethiopia has secured three billion USD from the Horn of Africa Initiative (HoAI), making it the leading beneficiary of the initiative.
Over 20 projects are currently being implemented in Ethiopia financed by HoAI. The initiative has accumulated 9.7 billion USD in wealth for East African member countries so far.
The initiative places significant focus on infrastructural development, including the Addis Ababa-Berbera and Addis Ababa-Djibouti corridors, as well as the Addis Ababa-Dire Dawa Railway. The expansion of electric and telecom lines connecting Ethiopia and Djibouti is also part of the initiative. Similarly, numerous water reservoir projects are underway to mitigate drought in pastoralist areas.

The Pretoria Agreement, a Cessation of Hostilities accord signed between the Federal Government of Ethiopia and the Tigray Peoples Liberation front (TPLF) is successful in immediately halting the conflict in Ethiopia and contributes a significant role in regional stability.
It achieved a significant milestone. In addition, African ownership of the process is a testament to the capacity of Africans to contribute to a peaceful and stable Africa. The accord offers valuable insights and experiences worth emulating elsewhere on the continent.

-Women, persons with disabilities actively participating in National dialogue process: ENDC
Women and persons with disabilities are actively participating in the National Dialogue process and bring their agendas to the table which is crucial for the success and inclusiveness of the dialogue.
So far, the ENDC has identified participants and gathered agendas from 10 states and two city administrations.
In this process, women’s participation in the agenda-gathering process stood at 29.7%, while persons with disabilities accounted for 5%. The commission collected a total of 1,260 agendas from small and sub-groups, 120 from broader community structures, 60 from the five major groups of the National Dialogue Council, and 12 summary agendas from regional states and city administrations.
