ADDIS ABABA-Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed said that Ethiopian students should use scholarship program to emulate best experience from China as Beijing guaranteed 228 Ethiopian students with masters and PhD scholarship opportunities.
During the farewell ceremony held at the national palace, Premier Dr. Abiy remarked yesterday that the chronic poverty of Ethiopia as well Africa cannot be resolved by the existing traditional approaches, it rather needs employment of world frontier technologies.
“Skilled human power is the mere solution to engineer countries’ socio economic future”. Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia Tan Jian for his part said that Chinese miraculous development is the result of committed and efficient human resource. Accordingly, the recent Ethiopian awardees should take Chinese model to accelerate the recently motivated economic development.
Human resource is the most decisive element for socio economic development as Chinese experience has it. Hence, Ethiopia needs to follow the suit of China in developing its workforce and the scholarship program aims to help achieve this, he added. This scholarship grants to Ethiopia covers 16 percent of the total Chinese government sponsored scholarship scheme. About 90 countries are beneficiaries of the program.
