ADDIS ABABA – A database technology system that will facilitate legal employment process of fellow nationals in the overseas is due to be implemented said Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
State Minister Meselech Eshete said during her stay with the local media that the ball will get rolling starting from next Ethiopian fiscal year (which falls in the Month of September).She said the technology will integrate the federal and regional public institutions in a single system so that it eliminates the lengthy process of service delivery during verifying documents. It takes away the hassle of traveling from institution to institution.
With the help of the financial fund from World Migration Agency, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the “Ethio-Migrant Database Base technology system is under development by the Philippine Company LBT, the technology will make the data system transferable and secure by stopping illegal efforts.”
The Ministry also integrates with immigration technology, making it easier to obtain citizens’ information and allowing employment contracts to be entered into destination countries or where they enter at the desired time.She added, the exchange of documents and verifications with the institution will be handled via the integrated data base system, which helps to control fake documents.According to the State Minister, the government will ease the legal migration of nations by eliminating unlawful practices such as human trafficking and illegal migration.
