President receives Eritrean Ambassador, et al. credentials

ADDIS ABABA – President Sahlework Zewde received credentials of five ambassadors, including from Eritrea’s Amb. Semere Russom Hadera who has set foot in the country’s embassy after twenty years of diplomatic break off.

Following bilateral discussions, Amb. Semere told journalists that the day has been registered in the golden inks of history. “The day is historic to me and the entire continent.” He also said public diplomacy between the peoples of the two countries has been going smoothly and both sides are enjoying the relations.

“We have made promises to work together; to support each other and to invest all our energies and resources for the common good of the countries.” Also, President Sahlework received credential of other ambassadors and held separate bilateral discussions with them.

Accordingly, credentials of Somalia Ambassador to Ethiopia Ali Sherif Ahmed, Tunisia Ambassador to Ethiopia Kais Kabtani, Egypt Ambassador to Ethiopia Osama Abdelkhalek, Thailand Ambassador to Ethiopia CherdkiatAtthakorwere received.

Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Meles Alem also told journalists that fruitful discussion held with all the ambassadors and they all vow to give their countries’ relation with Ethiopia further momentum.
