AAU working to excel services via tech

ADDIS ABABA–The Addis Ababa University (AAU) Registrar announced that it is deploying cutting-edge technologies to provide fast, reliable and accessible registrar services to students.

Speaking to the Ethiopian Press Agency (EPA), AAU Registrar Office Director-General Adey Feleke (PhD) said that the university is working to improve its services through updating the manual system to electronic model and installing state-of-the-art technologies.

According to her, the students are expected to fulfill every pre-requirement using the online system in accordance with the registrar guidelines.

Accordingly, the form of the application process is implemented differently for students who are assigned from the health ministry as the entire process is mandated to Ministry of Health and Education.

“The university has finalized its preparation to put in place registrar activities such as students enrollment, entrance exam and result announcement via an online platform. At this juncture, 99 percent of the students’ application form will be executed through the system.”

Moreover, the office has also been setting problem solving mechanisms and responding to possible service inconveniences that occurred during department selection for undergraduate students, application and in other related services, she underscored.

“Currently, the center is also advising and facilitating the students to fulfill the required credentials of under graduate, post graduate and PhD students while receiving the students to ease the teaching-learning process.”

The office, along with the university’s senate, is mandated to approve the students up on completing the required disciplines, she added.

Being autonomous, the university is coming up with immense opportunities and modernizing the service delivery from registration up to graduation process through manageable policy and guidelines, she reiterated.
