Extricating themselves from the shackles of domination Africans were hell-bent to gain their independence. Vesting hope on the almighty, strengthening their unity, letting their quest for justice resonate with in Africa and beyond they were aiming for victory. The clamor for justice had found an echo even in Caribbean islands. The Harlem renaissance is also ascribable to this movement. The liberation movement had found an outlet in poems and songs as evidenced in the Negritude movement. The victory of Adwa had served a source of inspiration to many freedom fighters that took Ethiopia a beacon of freedom. The themes of the following two anthems capitalize on the need for unity, perseverance, continuous fight and justice. It as well aims at shaping the fate of Africa ensuring sustainable peace.
