When TPLF men raped me, I reminded them to think of their sisters”

ADDIS ABABA – Agere Yaynalem, a 37-year-old woman said she was raped multiple times and left unconscious by terrorist Tigray soldiers. Agere noted that at 2 PM on Aug, 6, three Tigray men knocked at the drinks store she ran and threatened to shoot if she did not open. They drank all her stock.

“I appealed to them, do you not have sisters? Think of them. The worst has already happened to me.”

The woman begged the men to think of their families and sisters. They shouted, “You have children and we don’t… while Tigray is dying, you have children.” Agere was beaten and raped until she was unconscious. Friends found her hours later.

The aforesaid horrible story has been told by Reuters. This news agency has also reported that the terrorist TPLF has massacred civilians apart from raping women in Amhara State.

Interviewing a local Health Official Kindeye Zikyalew, Reuters indicated that 14 rape victims were treated by this individual. Accordingly, many were suffering from psychological problems, difficulties of sleeping, stress, fear, suicidal feelings and feelings of worthlessness.

By the same token, Nifas Mewcha Mayor Office Head Belete Asrat highlighted Tigray forces raped 74 women. He cited evidence collected by his staff and local medical teams.
