ADDIS ABABA – Africans want the U.S. to take its bloody hands off of the continent and the U.S. needs to get out of Africa, so said pan-Africanist Rafiki Morris.
During last weekend’s #NoMore panel discussion in Washington DC, Rafiki Morris, organizer with the All African People’s Revolutionary Party (A-APRP) and member of the Black Alliance for Peace (BAP), stated that Africans want the U.S. out of Africa, not just the U.S. government, not just the U.S. military forces, but all 54 of US embassies.
“We [Africans] do not need them in Africa. And we are going to do everything we can to get them out of Africa,” he added. He said, “The U.S. government has military forces in every country in my homeland. They have militarized police forces in every city where Africans live on the face of this earth.“And they want to turn some of us against the rest of us.”
As to him, this is a war. And it is not a low intensity war, but it is a high intensity and protracted war that has been going on damn near 300 years. It is time to bring it to an end, he added. “No more imperialism, no more capitalism, no more neocolonialism, no more imperialist armed forces, be the US, French, Germany, Canadian, Australian,” he indicated. All these settle colonies are in cahoots with one another, he said.
He reiterated that Africa must unite. Africans do not have to unite to have a better life, but to defeat imperialism, get rid of neocolonialism, end the last vestiges of colonialism that is continuing to be practiced in the Western Sahara today. He insisted that Africans must unite in order to defeat their enemies. Victory is on the other side of unity. “So in order to wage the struggle to achieve victory, we have to go together.”
He also opined that the end of imperialism will be in Africa. Africans will dig a grave for imperialism in Africa. And they will cremate the body of imperialism, and they will bury the ashes and will put people on guard to make sure it never rises again. “We do this not just for Africa, but for all of humanity, because our enemies are enemies of the people of the world,” he stated.
