Ethiopian artists have been advocating nationalism, unity and love hovering high their national flag though they experienced not much financial returns in doing so,” Hurso Contingent Training School Chief Commander Colonel Addisu Terfasa said.

The commander noted this in an event in which senior and junior artists showed artistic performances with a theme of “Priority for Motherland” in a bid to boost the morale of the army which is being trained at the school for the fourth round.

He also appreciated the good job the artists are doing consistently as guardians of the country enthusing the army.

“Being a soldier and artists are not only related with patriotism but also in terms of discipline. An army can achieve victory if it is equipped with morale in the creation of which art has a decisive role,” he said.

Art and being a soldier are almost similar in line with self-sacrifice, patriotism and national unity. The Ethiopian army is disciplined and committed to sacrifice its life for the sovereignty of the land.

On the event, the recruited army members also expressed their pleasure and appreciation for the surprise visit and performance of the artists.

Artists like Aregahegn Werash, Tsegaye Eshetu, Girma Tefera, Tadele Roba, Madingo Afework, Getachew Hailemariam, Meseret Belete, Mesfin Bekele, Getish Mamo and Mamila Lukas among others had presented their art performance.
