
ADDIS ABABA – A new e-commerce technology application that is expected to further support the marketing transaction launched here yesterday.
Ashewa Technology Solution, CEO, Daniel Bekele said on the occasion that the new platform is designed to support the existing economic performance of the nation with better technology access.
Danel further said that having such a technology speeds up the local market transaction and prevents hoarding products.
“The technology will also enable the nation to further tap economic resource of the Diaspora community,” he added.
“The experience of those economically advanced countries have witnessed that the use of e-commerce has enabled both merchants and customers to have market choices and avoid unreasonable prices.”
Daniel noted that the e-commerce application is expected to bring modern marketing systems to home and enable customers to have easy access to goods and services with reasonable prices.
According to him, having such a technology in the country will play its role in stabilizing soaring prices.
“Since the technology is easily applicable and accessible both the urban and rural communities can exchange goods and services through it.”
At the event, Innovation and Technology Minister representative, Mesfin Belachew (PhD) said, the new platform is timely technology. In addition to facilitating the market system it would also create more job opportunities for youth and entrepreneurs, he said.
Ashewa e-commerce Project Manager, Alehegn Tefera, on his part said that the new platform is so new to Ethiopia that it will provide a new dimension in the area.
