Nation witnesses colorful Mewlid, Somali State Gov’t formation

This weekend, the country has hosted various events including the formation of the Somali State government. The nation has also witnessed the colorful celebration of the 1496th Mawlid Holiday on Monday.

In his benediction, President of Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Supreme Council, Grand Mufti Haji Omar Idris said that the celebrants should take into account and support the internally displaced people.

He noted that Moulid Holiday signifies all good things that Almighty (Allah) has given to mankind across the world while doing away with challenges. He added that 1496th Mawlid Holiday which is being celebrated across the world is not only to venerate the birthday of Prophet Mohammad but also to commemorate the good things that happened alongside.

In this regard, the country has celebrated the Mawlid Holiday colorfully in various programs.

Celebrants chanted spiritual songs tribute to the kindness and holy deeds of the Prophet Mohammed. In addition, religious leaders and Islamic scholars cited verses from the holy Quran and called on the faithful to follow the example of the Prophet in their lives, striving for harmonious existence with fellow human beings.

On the other event, the country has witnessed the formation of the new government of Somali Regional State on Sunday. Accordingly, former deputy President of the state, Mustafa Omar, has been sworn in as Chief of the State. Thanks to the swift measures taken by the reformist leadership of Abiy Ahmed (PhD), administrative appointments are improved in the Somali State that has been ruled by puppet leaders handpicked by the TPLF warlords based in Harar, said Mustafa Omar in his public remark after he was sworn in as Chief of the State.

The people and the government will work together to achieve a common goal of transforming the nation to a new chapter. He also expressed his congratulatory message to the people for realizing forming a legitimate government exercising its democratic rights to actively engage in a credible election.
