Ethiopians throughout the world have been condemning any support to the terrorist Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) since its inception although it was brought to office by the support of its western breast feeders.
And most of the western powers have been turning deaf ears to the anguishes of Ethiopians not only in its thirty years governing period, but also after it has turned a terrorist clique.
They deliberately failed at least to condemn TPLF a cruel and criminal terrorist clique that is recruiting child soldiers, killing innocent women and children of Ethiopia in Tigray, Amhara, Afar and Somali states.
As the truthful Portuguese politician Ana Gomes communicated the UN Secretary General and the UN Relief Chief recently in her tweets, Ethiopians in every corner of the world believe that TPLF and its supporters are dangerous band of criminal oppressors and liars. Any organization or individual who works for the survival of TPLF is the enemy of all Ethiopians.
Similarly, as Gomes noted four years ago speaking to ESAT on the phone, it is really shocking that powers such as the US and the EU and its member states know very well that TPLF has no legitimacy and democratic bases in Ethiopia but still continue to support under the pretext of access to humanitarian aids and democracy.
Why do the powers in the US and Europe use excuses to turn a blind eye and have neglected the democratic aspiration of the people of Ethiopia? And why do they deliberately fail to understand that they have been the causes for the terrorist TPLF atrocities both in Ethiopia and at the larger Horn? Are they really worried for the wellbeing of all Ethiopians as well as the Horn of Africa by turning a blind eye and a deaf ear to TPLF terror attacks?
Likewise, they should recall the ill doings of the terrorist TPLF that the European Union’s chief observer for the rigged Ethiopia’s National Elections in 2005, Gomes had witnessed that TPLF had been leading mockery elections.
Equally, they must not stand with the terrorist TPLF since they knew that the 2005 election had deteriorated the democratic space in Ethiopia by worsening the suppression of political rights including freedom of expression. The TPLF dominated government took extremely wrong measures to reverse the results of the election.
In the same token, they should not turn a blind eye to the farce election in 2015 that forced the general public in Ethiopia to protest against the illegal actions and human right violations.
All of the opposition political party leaders were arrested; a number of private media outlets had also been closed as well as the activities of civil society organizations were made drastically limited by the then regime.
But the Biden Administration and EU have failed to condemn all the atrocities committed by the TPLF even though the former European Union Member of Parliament, Gomes and other truthful and reliable politicians have witnessed.
However, in contrast to the accusation, they have kept on praising TPLF against Ethiopians for its atrocities in its fake democracy, peace and human rights.
Therefore, if all their solidarity is to Ethiopians anxious for peace, democracy, and genuine development they would adhere to the truth on the ground and accuse the terrorist TPLF clique and bring it to justice.
