Pleasure comes with a little pain

Embracing a new trend of bootstrapping, Ethiopia is currently all out to shape its fate by itself despite hurdles erected on its way. As such it has become a standard-bearer for nations striving to effect development goals without a diktat from those quarters that have not yet outgrown the neocolonialism or predatory feeling.

Envisaging development beyond its perimeter, Ethiopia is rekindling the sentiment of regional growth and pan Africanism. Those who espouse win-win cooperation and a genuine partnership are tapping it on the back, while opportunists who want to fish in troubled water are lamenting the foiling of their plot of bringing the country down by a flying tackle.

Leaders of different countries and prominent personalities have graced the swearing in ceremony of PM Abiy Ahmed and the establishment of a new government. This hits the last nail on the coffin of intransigents here and abroad. It will rung down the curtain on arm twisting by superpowers being chased out of different corners of the world.

Ethiopia a beacon of freedom is deadest at ensuring its renaissance.

A paradigm shift is called fall. That is why instead of rolling out a red carpet Ethiopia rolled out a green one embroidered with the Adey Abeba (Yellow Daisy) for welcoming guests. We should honor our culture and identity than simply adopting that of others. This idea was first reflected by PM Abiy Ahmed.

In her inaugural speech in parliament yesterday, President Sahlework after noting that the day marks the end of a gruesome chapter and the opening of a rosy one, she noted that if one bleeds in one’s effort to touch a rose it shows the rose is not far. She metaphorically expressed though Ethiopia paid a lot of sacrifices to bring into play a genuine and new government the sought-for objective is due to unfold. She also expressed gratitude to those that sacrificed a lot to the sovereignty, unity and peaceful coexistence which underwent acid test the past three years. It is the sum total of Nation’s perseverance and sentiment of never saying die that allowed this day made possible by an election seen fit gauged by all measures.
