ADDIS ABABA– The Southern Nations, Nationalities, and People’s State (SNNPS) has re-elected Ristu Yirdaw as Chief administrator.
Having re-elected by the State Council and taken oath to office yesterday, Ristu called on citizens to play due role in building real democracy. “All citizens ought to contribute their fair share to build genuine democratic system in the state.”
He noted that the people should ensure democracy renewing their commitment that was showcased during the 6th general elections .
Those who elected by the people should serve the public with a sense of responsibility and accountability. The new government has to work strongly towards achieving democracy and economic development, he highlighted.
Ristu has been served as Deputy chief administrator of the state since 2019.
By the same token, Fatie Sermolo and Negatu Dansa have been appointed as a Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the council respectively.
